Bay Roberts, NL

Bay Roberts is a growing community. As a small town with amazing seaside scenery, it possesses the integrity, peace and security of an active and inclusive community.  A waterside town, it is located on the Bay Roberts and Coley’s Point Peninsulas on Conception Bay (which are joined by the uniquely named Klondyke Causeway) and the banks of the Shearstown River.  The town is conveniently situated only about an hour by highroad from St. John's, the provincial capital.

The Bay Roberts Hotel, Silverwood Inn, and Klondyke Cottage provide accommodations for tourists and business visitors.

The town has a number of sites of interest.  The 6km Bay Roberts Shoreline Heritage Walking Trial offers an opportunity to pay honour to the past, while communing with nature away from the noise of today’s world. The coastal walk wanders along sheer cliffs, sweeps of beach, sheltered coves, and craggy headlands.  The Cable Building, which has received the Manning Award for Excellence in the Public Presentation of Historic Places, has been designated a National Historic Site and Provincial Registered Heritage Structure. The restored building contains the “Road to Yesterday” Museum, the Christopher Pratt Gallery, the Bay Roberts Archives, the Bay Roberts Municipal Offices, and the Bay Roberts Council Chamber.

The estuary is home to many species of plants and wildlife, a number of which are depicted on a series of ten interpretative panels located in the estuary.

Bay Roberts is an oasis of beauty and tranquility which you have to experience to truly understand.
