Well here it is.... the first look at Robert Eggers THE LIGHTHOUSE.

Filmed on location just outside of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia - THE LIGHTHOUSE stars Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson.  The film tells the story of two lighthouse keepers on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s and we've gotta say looks might creepy.

With the tag line "there is enchantment in the light" and a trailer that provides more questions that answers, there sure will be lots to uncover when THE LIGHTHOUSE hits theatres Friday, October 18, 2019.

Many a tourist picture's been taken at the Cape Forchu Lightstation just outside of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia - but for now and for the next couple of months it will be the set of a major motion picture.

THE LIGHTHOUSE has already begun pre-production at the area along on the Leif Erikson trail and is set to film there through until May 11th - following which they'll move to another location.

We at SEA AND BE SCENE love posting when a film has chosen Canada's EAST coast for its backdrop - and adore it even more when we can confirm a stellar cast.

Case in point THE LIGHTHOUSE.

Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe (THE FLORIDA PROJECT) will star in the horror film that tells "the story of an aging lighthouse keeper named Old who lives in early 20th-century Maine."

Just announced to be joining Dafoe in the thriller is the Robert Pattinson of TWILIGHT saga fame.  Pattinson is currently overseas where his new film DAMSEL is nominated for Best Feature at the Berlin International Film Festival.

You can be sure with the project being written and directed by Robert Eggers, whose 2015 film THE WITCH still keeps me up at night - will once again bring the edge of your seat thrills and chills to this picture.

Eggers, will be following in the footsteps a very famous fellow New Englander who has used Nova Scotia to double as the state of Maine on many occasions (see - HAVEN, DELORES CLAIBORNE, BAG OF BONES et al).

A24 has THE LIGHTHOUSE currently slated for worldwide release in 2019.

Sure is wonderful to see another feature film being produced in the province and we'll be sure to keep you posted as production details become available. SABS

ps - Watch for THE LIGHTHOUSE star Willem Dafoe in AQUAMAN starring FRONTIER's Jason Mamoa when in premieres December
