HOLIDAY MOVIES with EAST COAST connectionsWe're not afraid to post it!

We LOVE Christmas!

The beautiful decorations, the festive feelings and oh yes - the holiday movies!

Especially when they star truly talented (and oh so good lookin') Atlantic Canadians.  We also love it when the movies feature Canada's great East Coast as a backdrop.

Here's our holiday list (so far) of those must-watch made for TV movies being broadcast this 2015 season...

broadcast notes

Christmas with Holly Premieres Dec. 9 on ABCFilmed in Nova Scotia (for trailer & our coverage click here)

Hallmark Hall of Fame Presents... Maggie Conway’s had it with big-city living, especially after her husband-to-be leaves her at the altar – literally! She moves to small-town Washington State (played by Nova Scotia's South Shore), opens a toy store dedicated to expanding kids’ imaginations … and meets Mark Nagle, proprietor of the local coffee shop. Mark’s number one priority is his six-year-old niece, Holly, whose mother has passed away, leaving him caregiver-in-chief along with her two other uncles. Holly hasn’t spoken a word since her mother died, and the three men try relentlessly to get her to speak. Is there room in Maggie and Mark’s busy lives for romance? To be (in love) or not to be (in love) -- that is the question! Stars Sean Faris and Eloise Mumford. You can watch for a whole lot of Nova Scotia based extras too! 🙂

Next showing on The Hallmark Channel Tuesday, December 8th (for more showtimes click here). This movie is also available now on DVD

In this new yuletide tale, Riley (Shanea Grimes) is scraping bottom when she miraculously lands a job with a wealthy New York City entrepreneur (Steve Lund). He’s a bad-boy socialite type who is poised to play Scrooge by closing one of his factories just before Christmas, which would devastate and entire town. It’s left to Riley to talk him out of it and turn him into a man of virtue rather than shame. But will a case of mistaken identity ruin the whole plan?"

Aspiring astronomy professor and Christmas enthusiast Holly (Sarah Carter) is crushed when her longtime boyfriend Adam (Paul Popowich) schedules a business trip and leaves her alone over the holidays. When she decides to surprise both Adam and her parents with a Christmas visit, however, fate, or perhaps the Christmas spirit, intervenes.

Holly's bumpy holiday travel makes a turn onto the road to romance when she and her bus companion, Luke (Damon Runyan), forge an instant connection over their love of constellations and Christmas. In the spirit of the season, Holly invites Luke and his brother Bull (George Canyon) to join her family and Adam for Christmas, which instantly creates a competition between Luke and Adam for Holly's attention. As sparks fly like shooting stars between Holly and Luke, will Holly decide to play it safe and stay with Adam or to thank her lucky stars for the Christmas gift of romance with Luke?
