THE LISTENER Returns for Season 5

Less than a week to go now before Nova Scotia's own Craig Olejnik returns as Toby Logan for a 5th season in the CTV hit drama Click here to see Craig Olejnik in our ROAD TRIP TO TORONTO specialTHE LISTENER.

We know from our feature on-set chat with Mr.O during production that season 5 will see everything "amped up".

We're also pleased to read in the release below another one of favourite East Coast folks will be joining in the fun for episode 501 "The Wrong Man" - award winning and wonderful NL fella Shawn Doyle.

With a new boss, new baby and new cast members, there are plenty of shake ups set for Season 5 of “The Listener.”

Season 5 of THE LISTENER premiers Monday May 26, 2014When the hit drama series returns Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT beginning May 26 on CTV and CTV GO, telepathic crime-solver Toby Logan (Craig Olejnik) continues to advance his police skills to become an even more effective member of the elite unit. But things could get complicated when Supervising Inspector Brian Becker (Anthony Lemke), who has unfinished business with Toby from Season 1, returns as the new boss of the Integrated Investigative Bureau (IIB).
New Baby on board for Season 5 of THE LISTENERA new digital series will further expand Becker’s suspicions about Toby, as Becker digs deeper into his questionable crime-solving abilities and mysterious background. Becker doesn’t trust Toby, and he intends to find out his secret through interrogations with key individuals from his past. The series will launch mid-season on CTV’s exclusive new digital hub CTV Extend.
There will also be challenges ahead for Sgt. Michelle McCluskey (Lauren Lee Smith) in Season 5 as she struggles to balance her career with her new found motherhood. 
Toby also contends with the new status of his romantic life this season. Having moved in with crime reporter Tia Tremblay (Melanie Scrofano), he treads a fine line between being too open about his work and holding back, while Tia begins to look into his mysterious past. Michelle juggles motherhood with her policing duties, and disappointment at being passed over for a promotion. Meanwhile, Toby’s best friend, Oz Bey (Ennis Esmer), steps away from hospital administration and the world of EMS to take care of people in new ways – as the owner of a popular gastropub.
Shawn Doyle on S5 Premiere of THE LISTENERIn the Season 5 premiere, entitled “The Wrong Man,” Toby and Dev (Rainbow Sun Francks) investigate a serial killer who leaves live snakes with his victims, echoing the calling card of a past culprit (guest star Shawn Doyle) who Michelle had previously put behind bars. Meanwhile, Michelle is trying to enjoy her maternity leave with her new baby girl and husband Adam (Kris Holden-Ried) but when her credibility is doubted with the suggestion that she may have arrested the wrong suspect, she must return to the IIB in order to save her professional reputation. 
THE LISTENER S5 key artNatalie Krill will also join the cast as forensic technician Alex Kendrick, much to the delight of Dev who is thrilled to have an attractive new colleague and collaborator. 
Guest stars will include “MasterChef Canada” judges Alvin Leung and Claudio Aprile as well as Natalie Brown and Gabriel Hogan.
