Sarah Bell – No Place Like Home in New Brunswick

Occupation: Actor/Musician/Teacher/Kitchen Sink

Place of Birth: Fredericton, NB

Currently Resides: Halifax, NS

Where’s your favourite place in  New Brunswick  to grab a coffee?

Honestly I'm a Tim Hortons kind of girl, but if I'm going for the whole coffee experience it would definitely be Bridge Street Café in Sackville, NB. I've spent my fair share of time in there whilst doing my undergrad, but I never get sick of the place...and they have a delicious patio!!!

Where’s your favourite place in New Brunswick  to grab a pint?

The Lougheed Pub in Harvey Station. Moosehead on tap and donair sauce with mozza sticks? My kind of place! It also helps that it's located in the heart of my hometown. I used to sling burgers and beer there when I came home for the summers from University.

Where’s your favourite place to shop in New Brunswick ?

I love Value Village on Bishop Drive in Fredericton. I should say something more regal and refined but...I'm not going to lie. It's a mean thing to do.

Where in  New Brunswick would we stand to see your favourite view?

Ohh this is a no brainer. The Dykelands between Sackville and Amherst. There's a sweet spot that would take your breath away. I'd tell you how to get there, but then there would be more people there...and that ruins the whole thing.

Name 3 things we’ve gotta do when we visit New Brunswick :

1. Wear bug spray (us locals call it fly dope)

2. Find a friend with a boat and go fishing. (everyone's your friend in NB) After the fish, if they have a boat they likely have a camp, head there and play a few hours of crib. I get bored after an hour or so and write dirty things in the guest book and do card tricks. That's fun too.

3. Tubing down the Nashwaak (River). Easily the best thing since sliced bread.

What makes New Brunswick such a special place on earth for you?
NB is the best place around. Wooded, friendly and beautiful. Not to mention there is an amazing theatre scene!!! There are so many other amazing things to mention, but I guess you'll just have to come visit and find that out for yourself!
