Koumbie – At Home Here in Nova Scotia

Occupation: Actress

Place of Birth: The Grace Maternity Hospital, Halifax, NS

Currently Resides: Toronto, ON

Where’s your favourite place in Nova Scotia to grab a coffee?

I'm not a huge coffee drinker but I love the London Fogs at Just Us or the anything at David's Tea.

Where's your favourite place in Nova Scotia to find something sweet?

Julien's Bakery in the Hydrostone has really good pastries, they also sell at the Halifax Seaport Market.

Where’s your favourite place to shop in Nova Scotia?

I like Pseudio because they have quality brands but are also local, same goes for Biscuit. But if we're being honest, I can pretty much only afford the 2$ bin at Elsie's.

Where in Nova Scotia would we stand to see your favourite view?

You don't even have to stand - Camping at Ovens in Lunenburg is incredible, and if you get your tent right by the water you can wake up to the fishermen playing country music. Just don't get too close or one of your friend's will have nightmares about falling in....

Name 3 things we’ve gotta do when we visit Nova Scotia:

Peggy'sCove1. Peggy's Cove Peggy's Cove Peggy's Cove preferably for sunrise or sunset.

2. Breakfast at the Saturday Market, bring some loonies for the incredible musicians that will entertain you as you eat.

3. Take a road trip and try and stay on the coast as much as possible, it's beautiful and you will find some hilariously cheap campgrounds. Bring an extra pair of clothes for when you spontaneously decide to go mud sliding.

What makes Nov a Scotia such a special place on earth for you?

It's home.

These days you can catch her in the role of Sheila on CBC's hit comedy series Mr.D.

One of my favourite episodes was "Culture Day" Episode 211 in which Koumbie is front and centre - very funny stuff for sure - click here to watch.
