my husband Chris Szarka & me kayaking Michelle NoldenWhere in Newfoundland & Labrador would we stand to see your favourite view?

Tough one – Looking out from Quidi Vidi fishing Village - timeless. Top of Signal Hill - looking back into St Johns (pic above)

Name 3 things we’ve gotta do when we visit Newfoundland & Labrador:

1. Sea kayaking (We did Stan Cook and loved it)

2. Rent bikes and bike through Quidi Vidi stopping at the Inn of Olde

3. The Irish Loop

What makes Newfoundland & Labrador such a special place on earth for you?

Now, I admit, I’ve always been a bit of a wannabe East Coaster and knew I loved Newfoundland before I ever even went there based on my dear Newfoundlander friends but I can honestly say and anyone who knows me well will attest to the truth that… Newfoundland is one of my favourite places on the planet. I’ve always been in awe of the ruggedness and majesty of it yet humbled and charmed by what I consider some of the kindest and realest people I’ve met. From the music (I was truly star struck meeting Alan Doyle as a LONG time Great Big Sea Fan), to the hospitality, to the expressions (which can describe things in a way like no other) to the sheer contentment and joy of being there. It holds a very special place for me.
