Gary Levert – At Home Here in Nova Scotia

Occupation: Actor

Place of Birth: Sudbury, ON

Currently Resides: Halifax, NS & Toronto, ON

Where’s your favourite place in Nova Scotia to grab a coffee?

Trident, It’s just really the best stuff in town.

Where’s your favourite place in Nova Scotia to grab a pint?

The Economy Shoe Shop - so many great memories. Tom’s Little Havana.

Where’s your favourite place to shop in Nova Scotia?

Dugger’s, and the Hydrostone Market in Halifax.

Where in Nova Scotia would we stand to see your favourite view?

Atop East Pennant Point, looking south toward Peggy’s Cove, and standing on the deck of a boat sailing into Lunenburg Harbour.

Name 3 things we’ve gotta do when we visit Nova Scotia:

1. Make your way to Cape Breton.

2. Visit Mahone Bay and Lunenburg

3. Take in one of the many festivals we have to offer here in Nova Scotia. My favorite is the Halifax Jazz Festival.

What makes Nova Scotia such a special place on earth for you?

The people, land and sea, especially the sea. Whenever I’m away working or staying in Toronto and then return to my home in Halifax, as I drive over the Harbour on the Macdonald Bridge, a wonderful feeling of contentment and a strong sense of place washes over me. Halifax, Nova Scotia is my mistress that I can’t seem to shake.
