The show documents all the fun - from the concept to the creation - all of Majumder's plans to revitalize the 350 member community with...

"A $2.6 million, 5-star, ecolux lodge with high-end guest cabins, a food supply system, guided tours and dozens of other activities ... To make this happen Shaun teams up with his fiancée, Shelby Fenner, his big sister Rani Majumder and his soon to be bromantic partner Peter Blackie." (source)

  1. I am addicted to Majumder Manor. Seems more "real" than most reality shows out there. Love it when a Canadian stays true to his roots and love that Shelby has learned to love the home town as much as Shaun does. When she is all dressed up in her parka and boots, you wouldn't know that she isn't a Canadian. Very interesting to see the interaction between Shaun and the residents of Burlington and how they treat him like a "regular Joe." I have already set my DVR to record the series. Would like to see more of Shaun's dad though but will continue to watch the show - it has a very endearing quality.

  2. Why is no one else commenting on this little show? I feel as if I discovered it and am trying to spread the word. I came across it by accident and have been "DVR'ing" it ever since and I even watched the first two episodes over again so my husband would watch them.
It's a realistic reality show, if that's at all even possible. I mean, I love the crazy Housewives "reality" shows as much as the next person, but even I know that stuff is staged.
Loved it when Shaun and Shelby argued over the proposed design of the Manor. Nothing got accomplished with that argument, just like in real life. This is a quality Canadian TV show. We need more like it. Love the townspeople and their reactions. Priceless and "real." Good show. Sometimes with 200 + channels on the TV, it's difficult to find a good show, but I found one.

  3. This past Monday's episode was the best yet! The love story of Shaun's dad and his second wife was so touching, it made my husband and I bit teary eyed, although I can't be sure re: the husband as he turned his head away. An enduring love like that must be the real thing. Did Mr. Majumder really bring this lady all the way from Germany to Newfoundland? Now, that's gotta be true love, for sure, eh!
The black fly "slapping" interlude between Shelby and Shaun I found to be a tad annoying. . .after about 2 slaps, I believe I would've been slapping back FOR REAL.
Honestly, it's a lovely little show, and I wish there were more people commenting on it. I feel a bit lonely here.

  4. Clearly, Rudy was the star of this past Monday's episode. Rudy and the clown. Am beginning to wonder if Majumder Manor is ever going to get built though. Now they are concentrating on a greenhouse. Why not break ground on the Manor first? And if people really want the true Newfoundland experience, why would they even expect fancy food? Feed 'em what the Newfoundlanders eat. How authentic is the experience going to be if they get fancy food in rural Newfoundland? Not very. Nuthin' wrong with baked beans and poutine. We had Kraft Dinner and weiners at least once a week when I was growing up and I still love it. I don't want the "Manor" to go all "Hollywood" before it's even built! Keep it real.

  5. Great show, awesome to have 2 great (national!) Canadian shows out there that are representing NFLD. All the best to Shaun, love what he is doing to show off our home province and his home town
