Well.... good news/bad news I guess.

The good news is that fans of Nova Scotia's own, Country star George Canyon won't have to wait as long as anticipated to see him on screen in DAWN RIDER. The bad news... that screen will not be in movie theatres.

The 2012 remake of the 1935 John Wayne Classic of the same title was originally slated for an August 7th theatrical release, however Vivendi Entertainment has just announced the movie starring Christian Slater, Jill Hennessy and New Brunswick native Donald Sutherland will be released on DVD & Blu-ray exclusively at Wal-mart on May 29th. The movie comes with a “Behind the Scenes on DAWN RIDER” featurette. Here's the plot synopsis...

Christian Slater, Jill Hennessy and Donald Sutherland star in this gripping story of vengeance and passion set in the American West. When the father of gunslinger John Mason (Slater) is shot to death by masked bandits, Mason sets out with guns blazing to track down those who killed him. During his quest, he finds himself involved in a grim love triangle when he falls for Alice, the determined and beautiful woman also adored by John’s best friend. Based on the timeless John Wayne adventure, Dawn Rider is a riveting saga of retribution, duty and valor in the American West. George Canyon plays a character by the name of Cattle Jack.
