Today’s the day - the Hal!fax ComedyFest kicks off for its four day run of laughter and fun. More than 30 comedians, a variety of venues and thousands of folks will take in this great time while it’s happening in Nova Scotia’s capital city. 

If you’re not lucky enough to catch it live – there’s a talented team making sure to capture all the comedy gold for your future viewing pleasure.  We had the chance to sit down with Executive Producer Geoff D’Eon to get the scoop on how those TV shows come together and chat about the incredible line up of comedians in this year’s festival.

Based in Halifax now, Geoff was born in Yarmouth and has travelled around the world for his work.

An award-winning veteran of television and event production whose credits include everything from This Hour Has 22 Minutes, to the East Coast Music Awards to the Emmy Nominated Rick Mercer’s Talking to Americans.

As you’ll see from the video – we grabbed Mr. D’Eon amidst the pre-production productivity.  How lovely for us we got to gab with the man and get a glimpse into some of his humourous happenings and world travels, and lovelier still to hear why there’s no place on earth he’d rather be than here in Nova Scotia.
