Highlights of a Hero – Paul Hollingsworth

It was a wonderful night. Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of FameCTV Anchor and TSN reporter

phpbPaul Hollingsworth launched his book.  That statement certainly provides the top line – but for those of you who weren’t fortunate enough to be in attendance let me tell you what you missed....

A true celebration for a local hero.  A proud Nova Scotian who loves his province – who loves his family – who loves his job...who loves sports...and who wrote a book about Sidney Crosby

And there was huge love in the room for this newly dubbed Author.  Surrounded by family, friends, co-workers, teachers and students – Paul Hollingsworth took to the microphone – not a strange place for the journalist, but certainly under new circumstances, so it was with great (yet poised) emotion that he welcomed and thanked the packed place and recognized each person who helped him on this journey.

It was the perfect venue too.   Everywhere you look – great achievements in Nova Scotia’s sports history are showcased – and without doubt Sid the Kid’s excellence is displayed proudly.  With SIDNEY CROSBY The Story of a Champion Paul 'has followed the young hockey phenom from his early years in minor hockey to his spectacular contributions to Team Canada at International competitions'. Complete with inside scoop and colour pictures it’s bound to be a sure hit...and so in that regard, on November 9th another great Nova Scotia sport achievement was on display.

So glad we were there to share in that special moment – thanks for the invite Paul Hollingsworth – we salute you! SABS
