Jamie Robinson – At Home Here in Nova Scotia

Occupation: Musician/Producer/Songwriter

Place of Birth: Windsor, Nova Scotia

Currently Resides: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

Where’s your favourite place in Nova Scotia to grab a coffee?

I’m a fan of ‘Just Us’ coffee so I never pass up an opportunity to stop at their roastery in Wolfville.

Where’s your favourite place in Nova Scotia to grab a pint?

Nothing beats a cold drink on the deck of a sailboat on a sunny day (there is great sailing around here!) but if it has to be on land you’ll probably find me at The Carleton Music Bar and Grill on Argyle St. in Halifax.

Where’s your favourite place to shop in Nova Scotia?

Probably Lunenburg – lots of small shops and a great place to find souvenirs and gifts for my ‘foreign’ friends.

Where in Nova Scotia would we stand to see your favourite view?

That’s a tough question and my answer would likely change often. The Skyline Trail in the Cape Breton Highlands is pretty hard to beat, though.

Name 3 things we’ve gotta do when we visit Nova Scotia

1. Explore! – the Annapolis Valley, Cape Breton, South Shore…..

2. Take the kids to Sugar Moon farm in Earltown – and save room for dessert!

3. Check out some live music anywhere.

What makes Nova Scotia such a special place on earth for you?

 The people make the place!

  1. Hi Jamie!
I was at your concert with Jimmy Rankin last Saturday in Sidney, B.C. I was totally inspired by your musicianship!! I just started playing guitar (and now.mando) and your style is what I aspire to......I oughta be fairly proficient by about age 82!!!!

  2. Just got home from the concert in Camrose. I live in the swamp (Wetaskiwin) 40 km west of Camrose. First time at the Cargill Theatre. Loved the venue, the sound system, and the sound of your Yamaha guitar. Sounds a bit like a Fender Telecaster but seems more versatile.

  3. If you and Jimmy come by this way again see if you can get him to play 'Drifting Too Far From Shore". My favorite.
