Teresa Doyle’s Rock Barra Retreat

It truly is something else...and like nothing else you've ever seen.  Singer songwriter Teresa Doyle has created an artist's retreat in Rock Barra, Prince Edward Island.  Perhaps better phrased she is still creating - along with the help of her friends - a place where songwriters and painters and sculptors and...all - can be inspired by the beauty of this breathtaking place on earth.

This piece of peaceful property is being leased from Doyle's long-time friend Sam Sniderman (aka Sam the Record Man) and when she's not bunking down in one of the many Airstreams that dot the land, she's enjoying the play of light and wood and whatnot in an eclectic home that Daniel built (that's Oscar Winner Daniel Day Lewis).

There are no shortages of wonderful ways in which you too can experience Rock Barra Retreat - story telling and song writing workshops, seaside spa sessions, yoga on the beach.  Treat yourself and get in touch with your creative side at the one of kind Rock Barra Retreat - all hosted by the one of kind - Teresa DoyleSABS

Give a listen to a great acoustic performance of Teresa Doyle's "You're My Cup of Tea"

SABS Note of Noteworthiness:

The movie filmed here was entitled The Ballad of Jack & Rose directed by Rebecca Miller and starred Daniel Day Lewis as Jack and Camilla Belle as Rose - note the house's roof top is all grass....neat - and cool too is that the red couch they used in the movie is still in the house today along with a lot of other movie props.  I mention the sofa because Teresa Doyle and I are seated on it during the interview...

So that means I sat where Oscar winner Daniel Day Lewis sat...in all his method acting, accent wielding hunkiness...I mean come on - that's cool....I'm just sayin'

Here's the sofa  where actors and director are seated - chick here to look at the movie trailer

  1. We just came back ( 7/25/11) after spending a week in PEI ( your special part of the world;( please keep it a secret). Was not aware of Rock Barra until we got home in Boston even thou we spent 2 days up in the St Peters area visiting two beautiful beaches. Hopefully next summer we will return to your beautiful island.
