Linda Brooks – At Home Here in Nova Scotia

Occupation:  Singer-Songwriter

Place of Birth:  Perth-Andover, NB

Currently Resides:  Bedford, NS

Where’s your favourite place in NS to grab a coffee?

Local Jo Café and Market on Oxford Street in Halifax

Where’s your favourite place in NS to grab a pint?

Hmmm….so many great places…I’m more likely to grab a glass of wine, but my favourite spot would be The Carleton in Halifax, and did I mention the great live performances.

Where’s your favourite place to shop in NS?

I’m a big fan of Thornbloom in Spring Garden Place…but for clothing I can’t deny knowing the gals at All Dressed Up in The Sunnyside Mall in Bedford on a first name basis.

Where in Nova Scotia would we stand to see your favourite view?

The Public Gardens…flowers, flowers everywhere, and the view off Cape Split… breathtaking. .

Name 3 things we’ve gotta do when we visit Nova Scotia

1. Take in as much live music as possible

2. Stand on the rocks at Peggy’s Cove and feel small

3. Prepare to be embraced

What makes Nova Scotia such a special place on earth for you?

It’s where I met my husband, became a mother, and began my musical career. There’s a strength and a kindness here, that is so reminiscent of where I grew up, and I fell in love with the ocean…tough to beat on pretty much every level.
