A Spirited Business – The Ironworks Distillery

Updated: January 21, 2012

Congratulations to Lynne & Pierre on their great award!

The Lunenburg Board of Trade has just presented the Ironworks Distillery with the 'Business of the Year' award for outstanding success in their business community!

Cheers to you both!!!

Eureka!  And how!

Heritage meets handcrafted goodness at Ironworks Distillery, in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia – thanks to Lynne MacKay (NS) and Pierre Guevremont - owners and artisans.

Premium spirits are created with the freshest of ingredients one batch at a time.  Their distilling-by-hand process allows them to concoct great products inspired and infused with the province’s finest produce - blueberries, pears, apples and cranberries – it also allows them to play with their recipes, ever so slightly, constantly refining the balance...the beauty.

It was wonderful to meet this couple – and we will describe them to all that ask as follows – part artist, part entrepreneur, part mad scientist, all cool...truthfully we’re mad about Ironworks! SABS

Part of my job as “reporter” (stop laughing) is to sample the goods and I’ve gotta tell you the Ironworks Cranberry Liqueur is to die for – and so, inspired by this newly found adult beverage, I have created – The Sea and be Scene Cocktail.  I encourage everyone (over the legal age of course) to try it out!

Cranberry LiqueurThe Sea and be Scene Cocktail

In a chilled martini glass

add 2 parts Ironworks Cranberry Liqueur (from freezer)

1 part chilled lemon Perrier

one squeeze of a fresh lemon wedge

add a twist of lemon for fun

While You're Here...

Check out these other two SABS Original Cocktail recipes - made with Ironworks spirits and inspired by alFresco filmFesto!

  1. Bought a bottle of their liqueur while in Lunenburg. I'll pop it in the freezer now!
