The Biscuit Eater

The Biscuit Eater - Mahone Bay, NS

“You’re going to Nova Scotia – oh you’ve got to visit Mahone’s the place with the 3 Churches”.  You’re bound to hear that sentence more than twice from tourists past or Nova Scotians proper. And they are right.  Shops, restaurants, B&B’s – it really is a sweet spot.  And while you’re there - take a break at The Biscuit Eater, Cafe & Bookseller.  Located one street up from the main drag through town (on Orchard) so you’ll need to look for it – but you’ll be glad you did.  A local favourite for sure – great coffee, tasty sandwiches, freshly baked cakes and muffins and yes...they’ve got some beautiful biscuits. Enjoy! SABS

FYI – ever curious SABS wondered why they named the place The Biscuit Eater...was it after the 1940’s classic movie of the same name about two little boys and their dog named Promise who enter him into the Georgia State championship trials for bird dogs?

No...upon further investigation and questioning of the proprietors it turns out the place was named after one of see Dawn is the biscuit maker and Alden is...The Biscuit closed. SABS
