(Halifax, NS) – Today, JUNO Award-winning, Prince Edward Island based, The East Pointers, announced a new single, "Wintergreen," from their forthcoming album will be released July 12 via all digital retailers and a fall tour, including a performance at the Marquee Ballroom in Halifax on Friday, Nov. 29.

"Here we go, the next chapter of The East Pointers! Our new single “Wintergreen” comes out July 12 and we actually can’t wait for you to hear it," said Tim Chaisson, fiddler/singer The East Pointers. "We’re also touring across our beautiful country this fall so go look at the dates! We’ve got a lot of new music to share with you."

“Wintergreen”, produced by GRAMMY Award-winning Gordie Sampson (LeAnn Rimes, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts), is a fresh and vibrant take on folk music, bringing the bands furious live show energy to a song. But at the core, ‘Wintergreen’ is about offering a light in the darkness to those who need it.

The East Pointers are comprised of fiddler/singer Tim Chaisson, banjoist Koady Chaisson and guitarist Jake Charron. Known for their blistering live shows and palpable authenticity, the band has performed over 450 shows in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, UK, Europe, Mexico, United States and Canada.

The folk trio have been collecting a steady stream of accolades since the release of their debut album Secret Victory including, a 2017 JUNO Award for Traditional Roots Album of the Year as well as a 2019 East Coast Music Award for Song of the Year for “Two Weeks” and a 2016 Canadian Folk Music Award for Ensemble of the Year. The band has also won multiple Music P.E.I. Awards including, Group Recording of the Year, Roots Contemporary Recording of the Year, Song of the Year, Digital Achievement of the Year and Entertainer of the Year and have won Touring Artist of the Year four years in a row.
