Acadian Arts and Craft Day- West Pubnico

Queen of Hearts Dory Row & Ride- Clark’s Harbour
Tuesday Evenings All Summer
Learn to row a dory at the Cape Sable Island Causeway every Tuesday night all summer long. Whether you are a beginner or advance, you will take to the oars with a member of our Queen of Hearts Dory Club and learn and experience our seafaring history first hand.Check out the Facebook page for more details


Musique Royale! 34th Summer Festival
runs until September 27
A cross-province festival established in 1985, Musique Royale brings performances of early and traditional music to settings of historic and cultural significance within communities throughout the province. St. John's Anglican Church, at the heart of old town Lunenburg - a UNESCO World Heritage site - is the primary venue for Musique Royale events. Musicians from the local, national and international concert stage perform in over 20 communities each July and August. Consult the website for more information.


"Beaux Vendredis" lobster, clam & crab suppers
Friday's from June 28 to August 30, 2019
Locals and visitors alike love this experience for its informal atmosphere and delicious seafood. Locals freely offer to show visitors the "real" way to eat a lobster, while exchanging stories and laughs. All meals served with roll and melted butter. Live local music. Every Thursday in July & August
Concerts by the Mahone Bay Legion Swing Band. Every Thursday during July and August at 7pm. Bring a chair or dance on the grass.

Festival of the Strait- Port Hawkesbury
runs until July 7th 2019
Enjoy this 5-day festival of events attracting local residents, former residents, neighboring communities and tourists from all over. This festival offers activities for all ages including adult pub nights, street parade, children's parade, children's activities (inflatables, organized games) and a firework display, just to name a few. Peggy's Cove Area Festival of the Arts- various venues
July 3 - 15
Primarily a “coastal festival’ - this is an early summer celebration of the wealth of artistic talent in an area just south of Halifax, Nova Scotia. The focal point is our beautiful St. Margaret’s Bay with its iconic Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse. Check out all the awesome activities 

Pictou Lobster Carnival- various venues
July 5 - 7
This three day festival celebrates the end of the fishing season in the area, Maritime culture and music. The event features musical entertainment at the main stage, a beer garden, the Pictou Lobster Carnival Parade, an antique car show, derby races, lobster boat races, a mid-way, a children's parade and many other activities for the whole family.

Hubbards Barn Food Truck Rally

Teddy Bear Picnic- Le Village historique acadien, West Pubnico, NS
July 15
Children bring their favorite bears, especially those who need first aid. Bearamedic will be present.The paramedics will give the children safety tips. For more information, visit the website

42nd Annual NSDCC Summer Craft Show- Victoria Park
July 12 - 14
The 42nd Craft Nova Scotia (formerly known as NSDCC) Summer Craft Show will be held once again in Victoria Park, at the corner of Spring Garden and South Park St., across from the Public Gardens. This is an incredible location, taking in the sites, sounds and smells of bustling Spring Garden Area Business Association (link is external) area and just a stones throw from the Halifax Seaport (link is external). 12-15,000 attendees peruse and purchase the work of Craft Nova Scotia's fine craftspeople each summer.. Festival of the Tartans- New Glasgow
July 17 - 21
The Festival of the Tartans is celebrated every year with a five-day program that is sure to bring out the Scot in everyone, even those without Scottish roots! The Festival of the Tartans celebrates traditional Scottish culture brought to this area by Scottish immigrants more than two centuries ago. There are events for all ages including a Kilted Golf Tournament, massed pipe bands, Highland Dancing competitions, Scottish Heavy Weight Events, Clan Tents & Genealogy, a bagpipe quartet competition, and other outdoor entertainment. Also plan to attend our Official Launch on the riverfront, the antique car show in downtown New Glasgow and the popular fiddle Concert on Thursday evening. Tap your toes and clap your hands to the live Celtic music, and experience the historic Kirkin’ o’ the Tartan Ceremony at the closing. We hope you will join us from July 17 - 21 for this exciting celebration of Scottish culture!

16th Annual Acoustic Maritime Music Festival- Peterson's Festival Campground, Kempt Shore

Halifax Pride Week- various venues
July 18 - 28
Pride Week in Halifax is Atlantic Canada's largest LGBTQ Cultural Festival, a reflective and celebratory of the best of the LGBTQ community and culture in Halifax and throughout Nova Scotia. For detailed information, please visit the  website at

Boxwood shares and explores of the roots and branches of musical traditions in a holistic approach that integrates music, dance, language and crafts in educational outreach programs for adults, kids and professionals.

Africa Festival of Arts and Culture - Halifax Waterfrontafrica festival
July 19 - 21
Major events in the festival include arts, crafts, visuals and performing arts of people of African descent.Artists participating in the festival are diasporas many African nations. This is a free event. To learn more, visit the Festival website

Inverness Gathering- various venues
July 23 - 28
This lovely community by-the-sea celebrates their annual week long festival with fun for all ages. Dances, street parade, children’s activities, golf tournament, special art exhibit, princess pageant, casino night, fishermen’s picnic at the harbour, pancake breakfast, special horse races and much more. Something for the whole family! Take a stroll on the local boardwalk, beach comb for mermaid tears along the sandy beaches and experience some of Inverness County's awesome sunset's.
