A Sweet Release

“This Mother’s Day concert event is a celebration of the women in our lives who shape, inform and encourage our best selves. I’m excited to honour them with you in story and song,” says Brooks.
Brooks will sing and perform on the grand piano and be joined on stage by her band, James Logan on guitar, Jamie Gatti on bass, Dave Burton on drums and cellist, Catherine Little.

With a recording career that spans over 20 years, this latest double album of 22 original songs will mark Brooks’ 5th and most ambitious release. The music, set to be released on May 10 digitally, was exclusively presented as a companion download with her book, ORCHESTRA IN MY GARDEN: Lessons Learned From Digging Deep in 2018 and will now be released world-wide online and in CD form.

Linda Brooks releases ORCHESTRA IN MY GARDEN featureThe book celebrates her first turn as an author and joins her passion and understanding for nature and the inspiration it offers us all, with her love of music and writing in 17 essayed reflections on the garden as a metaphor for life.

Brooks’ writing is thoughtful and inspiring... a unique creation that merges her passion for gardening, her writing, and her songs...grown, patiently and with love and care, into something special, where art meets nature.” – Bob Mersereau.

Throughout her career, Brooks has performed in both Canada and the US and has been played across both terrestrial and satellite radio nationally and internationally and on CBC Radio.

Two of her albums, The Upside and Give Yourself A Little Christmas were recorded in Nashville and produced by Garth Brooks’ studio guitarist Chris Leuzinger. Her original song, “Nothing Like You” was included in the soundtrack of MOVING DAY, an independent film starring Victor Garber, Will Sasso and Gabrielle Miller, in which she also acted.
Brooks began her performing career with stage credits, including ‘Maria’ in THE SOUND OF MUSIC and in more recent years has appeared as a recurring character on CBC TV’s MR.D, where her song “Sunshine” was also featured in an episode. As an actor, she has also appeared in smaller roles in the CBC TV hockey mini-series, CANADA-RUSSIA 1972 (as Lynda Dryden) and in the mini-series, BEACH GIRLS (starring Rob Lowe and Julia Ormond).
