A GIFT TO LAST
December  16 - 17
The Gordon Pinsent Centre for the Arts and The Northcliffe Drama Club are proud to present A Gift to Last, a play based on the teleplay by Gordon Pinsent which aired in the late 1970s on CBC television and was adapted for stage by Alden Nowlan and Walter Learning. This heartwarming Christmas show is set in the Sturgess family home in 1898 and 1976.  Grandfather, Clement Sturgess, recalls to his grandson his Christmas memories of the house when he was 10, and his visit from his free spirited Uncle Edgar who was off to fight in the Boer War. The strained relationship he has now with his son mirrors the difficult relationship he had with his own father.  His recollections of Christmas 1898 reveal families in need of reminders of how much they mean to each other, and how a simple gift is able to demonstrate the love that is felt but not expressed often enough.  A Gift to Last will take to the stage on December 16 and 17 at 8:00 pm. Tickets for the show are $22 each or $15 for 4 or more. Click here for more details
