“The Argyle Street Kitchen Party” at Neptune

A Sweet Release...

Posted: June 13, 2018

Halifax’s ultimate kitchen party has added more special guests to its line-up. The Argyle Street Kitchen Party, conceived and created by folk artist Ian Sherwood and Neptune Theatre Artistic Director Jeremy Webb, will invite Reeny Smith, Thom Swift, Erin Costelo, T. Thomason, Dave Gunning, Ian Janes and The Hupman Brothers to the stage. This nearly completes the roster for The Argyle Street Kitchen Party, running July 3-29 on the Scotiabank Stage – the opening night’s surprise guest and a few more musicians will be announced next.

Each night’s performance will be hosted by award-winning Sherwood, along with a talented trio of East-Coasters Celia Koughan, Karen Lizotte, and Malia Rogers. They will be joined by a special guest musician nearly every night, providing a diverse and talented line-up that is a local music lover’s dream. Every night the stage will transform into a kitchen and bar for three roommates as they throw the best kitchen party, along with Ian and his special musical guest.

“This is a unique theatrical experience that we have created,” says Artistic Director Jeremy Webb. “Yes, this is a stage production and yes, there is live music, but we’re breaking the rules a little as we invite the audience on stage to participate in the party. There is a working bar with staff on stage where patrons can buy a drink and there are even several seats on stage for those who want the full experience.”

Special guest performers to date:

July 3-4: Christina Martin

July 6-7: Thom Swift

July 8: Erin Costelo

July 10, 20: Ian Janes

July 11: Reeny Smith

July 12, 13, 15: Lennie Gallant
