A Sweet Release

Posted: May 25, 2018

The River will be rocking a little harder thanks to the addition of some fantastic regional talent.

The August 3, 4 and 5 weekend is headlined by Matthew Good, July Talk and Jimmy Rankin.

Friday, August 3 will kick the weekend off with Pictou County’s own The Kitchen Criminals and StoneHouse, followed by Alert The Medic and headliner Jimmy Rankin.

Previously announced Saturday night headliner Matthew Good, and supporting group Roxy & The Underground Soul Sound will be in great company with the new additions of Halifax powerhouse Reeny Smith, and PEI’s own Sorrey.

Reeny Smith is one of the most powerful female performers on the East Coast and she is the perfect addition to the Saturday night lineup”, says Jubilee Chair Michelle MacLean. Smith is a 26 year old Soul singer/songwriter who is blowing audiences away. Her extraordinary vocals, confident stage presence, and energetic live show make for a truly unforgettable, entertaining experience.

Prince Edward Island-based band Sorrey performs pop inspired tunes, with lyrics that hit you right in the heart, and which you won’t soon forget.

Sorrey’s stage performance has the ability to make you perk up and listen to every word they’re singing - they’re a great addition to our mainstage lineup”.

Sunday Night sees July Talk, Reuben and the Dark, and Natalie Lynn, with new addition The Working Class Band. The Working Class Band from Antigonish, Nova Scotia blend elements of Soul, Blues, R&B and Reggae with an inspiring groove, smooth vocals, soul stirring guitar and colourful keys.

“This inclusion of blues is the best way to kick off Sunday night” says MacLean, “Working Class Band adds a mix to our Sunday night lineup which will be a joy to fans of all genres”.

Early Bird Ticket pricing is available until June 16th, which includes $75 Adult Weekend Pass, with special VIP and Youth Weekend Pass pricing.
