Acadian Arts and Craft Day- West Pubnico

Mother Goose / French for Fun Program- Petit de Grat Library

14th Annual Pre-Shrunk Show - Argyle Fine Art, Halifax
Opens January 19 - February 10
The annual Pre-Shrunk show is by far one of Halifaxs favourite art shows and the perfect way to kick off the New Year in style. The only rule for participating artists is that all the works included must measure 4" x 5". Be there for the Opening Reception - for all the vent details click here

Every year, restaurants across the province showcase an array of Nova Scotia product and creativity at an attractive price during Dine Around. Running from January 15th to March 15th, various menus will be available starting at $25. Celebrate February 2, Monday, 2014- Groundhog Day and World Wetlands Day, starting at 7:00 am with Shubenacadie Sam making his appearance and prediction at 8 am sharp. Will we have an early spring? Discover his message and have a free hot drink. Pictou Winter Carnival- various venues

LOVE and LOVERS - Studio 21 Art Gallery Halifax
February 14 - March 7
A group exhibition opening on love day with our 5th annual Valentine’s Day Art + Wine event. Featuring works by Laura Jean Forrester, Stephen Hutchings, Ania Biczysko, Ineke Graham, Heather Macleod, Jennifer Hornyak, Simon Andrew, Eva Lapka and Mariko Paterson.  More about Valentine's Day Art + Wine:  Sommelier Wally Fraser will match a variety of wines with works from the LOVE and LOVERS exhibition. Truro Winter Long John Festival- various venues
February 15 - 19
The annual Winter Long John Festival is a week-long event hosted by Truro Parks, Recreation and Culture, which offers an opportunity to get families outside to appreciate what the Town of Truro has to offer in the winter time. It’s a chance to get out and get some fresh air and exercise as well as meet people in the neighborhood. Long Johns are a natural fit for a winter festival, particularly in Truro where, in some ways Truro has become synonymous with long johns and underwear because of the Stanfield’s plant..  For event details click here.

Nova Scotia February Family Day Weekend

By the Light of the Candle - Ross Farm

In the early 1800's the only source of light would have been by a candle. Many families would have had to make their own candles or else go with no light at all. Come join staff in making dipped candles just like the settlers would have done years ago. Click here for details
