Nova Scotia’s Angie Chase Creates GOTHIC GLASS

Posted: December 5, 2017

When we began this SEA AND BE SCENE adventure going on eight years ago - we did so with the plan of showcasing the amazing personalities and places that made Canada's East Coast so special.  What we've discovered since is a truly packed treasure trove of wonderfully talented folks here in Atlantic Canada.

It was back in our early days that we were first introduced to Berwick, Nova Scotia born artist, Angie Chase, who after living out west for a while decided to return to the Annapolis Valley. We've been sure to stay in touch since that initial feature and we've loved watching all the wonderfully unique art glass designs Angie has created from her home-based Gothic Glass Studio.

"I find my inspiration comes from an inner place that doesn’t seem to be influenced geographically.  My Nova Scotia roots and culture have made me appreciate all the blessings in my life. My spiritual beliefs guide me. I re-create those symbolic intra-connections in my designs. I’m very connected to Mother Earth and I celebrate Her through much of my art."

Her designs have captured international attention and her work has been reviewed in several publications from coast to coast.

Gothic Glass Studio is known and appreciated for Angie's original designs, most of which are one-of-a-kind collector’s pieces.

Like these beautiful glass grapes created to celebrate the flourishing grape growing and wine industry in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia.

"I created this design using purple glass globs and added green glass leaves with copper wire."

They are a charming decoration for a gift bottle of wine, wedding favor or a lovely holiday tree ornament.
