Abbie’s Natural Skin Care Products

Way, way back in 1519 an old English proverb was first declared...

"Necessity is the mother of invention."

While it's hard to imagine the origin of the phrase had much to do with skin care - that certainly was the driving force for Nova Scotia born creator and entrepreneur Abbie Prosser.

After trying everything available and then some, her lifelong search for a product that actually worked - not worsened her complexion - came to a halt about a decade ago.  That's when she decided to create a skin care system for herself - and through her own natural products, finally achieved naturally beautiful results!

Here's Abbie's story....

"I started this all about 10 years ago. I was so frustrated with my skin and literally nothing seemed to help it. I had tried pretty much everything you could buy at a store, and plenty of things that were available online too.

I honestly wouldn't even want to try to figure out how much money I had spent (and wasted) over the years.

My skin was so sensitive and so easily irritated - everything made me break out! Lots of times I even had chemical burns on my face from different products.  My skin was oily and acne prone with horrible dry patches at the same time - it was always red and irritated.  It truly got to the point where I couldn't stand it.

One day, I was sitting on the bathroom floor cleaning out the cabinet underneath the sink.  I completely filled two grocery bags with skin care products to throw away.  Almost all of them were barely used... things I had bought with such high hopes that 'This would be the one that finally fixed everything for me,'  but instead I was disappointed every time.  Truthfully some things didn't have any effect, but most of those products actually made the problem worse.

I just sat there looking at these two full bags and I honestly just felt defeated. I was like 'this can't be it... this can't be the best it ever gets.'

All I wanted was a face cream that moisturized my skin but didn't make me break out. It didn't seem like too much to ask!!!

I started pulling products out of the bag and reading the ingredients to see if I could find any similarities, so I could figure out where I was going wrong. I really had no idea what I was looking for but I just felt like I was so out of options.

It was at that moment when I decided - 'I'm just gonna make my own face cream.... how hard can it be?"

Well, it turned out to be very hard - I mean I didn't have the tiniest clue how to begin, but that was the first time I can remember feeling relieved because finally I was in control of making my skin better.

I started reading every single book I could get my hands on. Books about cosmetic ingredients, essential oils, all the different formulation processes, making your own botanical extracts, and on and on. I read at least 4 hours a day for 2 years before I tried making anything. I wanted to really know what I was doing and I really wanted to be prepared.

First I made my face cream and I was so in love with it, I wanted everyone I knew to try it. They all loved it too, and that's when I thought - hey, maybe I could sell this. I figured there were probably lots of other people out there who were just as frustrated with their skin and were struggling to find something that worked.

I felt like I owed it to people to create an entire product line that could be used without ever needing to question what they were using.

I wanted there to be something available that worked amazingly well and was completely safe in every single way.

I could never find it.. so I decided to create it and that's how Abbie's Natural Skin Care Products came to be." AP
