The DEPP FINDER… SABS Original Adult Beverage

Posted: August 3, 2012

How sweet it is – the Summer of Johnny.... Johnny Depp....ahhhhhh

Ahem.... where was I? Oh yes - the alFresco filmFesto team is in the midst of another fun summer.

This time screening films from Oscar nominated and truly dreamy actor Johnny Depp and in celebration of all this movie magic on the Halifax, NS waterfront... we've come up with a downright delicious adult beverage called The DEPP Finder.

Inspired by one of this season's films Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (08/03/12) for sure - but I'll be honest when I tell you my mind drifted to another one of his confectionery based films Chocolat in which Johnny was an Irish gypsy.... have mercy....

At any rate... think of this as a grown up Chocolate Shake - very grown up!

Included in the recipe is Ironworks NEW BLUENOSE Rum - and that spirited jolt is sure to put the wind in your sails and then some.

As always we encourage you to enjoy responsibly and enjoy the Summer of Johnny!!! SABS

.

the DEPP finder

2 scoops of chocolate ice cream

1/2 cup of milk

1 shot of Ironworks BLUENOSE Rum (dark)

Put all of the above in a blender and...blend

In the bottom of a fountain style glass place your treasure - we've used gourmet chocolate fish & shells from Julien's Pâtisserie - This is the DEPP/depth finder tie in... get it? 😉

Pour in blender contents

Drizzle with chocolate sundae syrup

Serve with a straw & ENJOY immediately!

  1. I told dad to purchase some rum not cranberry wine when we were visiting ironworks on July 25 during tall ships! But alas we have cranberry wine equally as good for Christmas dinner (if not consumed before hand) sounds deliscious, do you have any other rum recommendations for a substitution? If yes email me Stephanie please!
