SOUNDTRACK With Stephanie Beaumont

Every Sunday from 1pm - 2pm AT on Cove FM - join host Stephanie Beaumont for SOUNDTRACK - your one hour red carpet ride to the marvelous music of movies and television.

You'll get the inside scoop on the songs, as well as the feature films and TV productions in which they were played.  We’ll also catch up when we can to the songwriters, composers, producers, directors and music supervisors attached to the tunes and of course we’ll enjoy the songs themselves. Grab your popcorn and tune in for SOUNDTRACK on Cove FM.

As you might imagine with the million plus TV shows and movies made over the years the scope for SOUNDTRACK is massive – so we’ll give each episode an area of focus and shine the spotlight on that.

What follows is a a track listing for each of the programs with IMDb links for the movie/TV titles along with the artist and iTunes links so you can ad the songs you loved the most to your SOUNDTRACK collection.

SOUNDTRACK - Episode #1

Since this is episode #1 here I thought we’d enjoy a few #1 songs from movies and television. In many cases these songs would go on to define the artists who sang them – becoming their signature songs if you will. Others wouldn’t see their on screen debut for years after their song’s initial release but in every case they climbed to the top of the charts and claim HUGE HIT STATUS.

From DESPICABLE ME 2 (2013) - Pharrell Williams with "Happy"

From CITY OF ANGELS (1998) - Sarah McLachlan with "Angel"

From BACK TO THE FUTURE (1985) - Huey Lewis and the News with "Power of Love"

From CARS (2006) - Tom Cochrane with the original version of "Life is a Highway"

From BED OF ROSES (1996) - Jann Arden with "Insensitive"

From ROBIN HOOD: PRINCE OF THIEVES (1991) - Bryan Adams with "(Everything I do) I Do It For You"
