Valentine’s Day Pretzels

rosie valentineLooking for a quick Valentine treat?  Voilà!

I found this delightful recipe on Pinterest and just had to make them for myself - I made a few modifications to fit my favourite ingredients and you'll see those noted below.

This is a quick, easy, and great treat to make for company.

It's the perfect combination of sweet and salty.

Hope you love them too! Rosie

ingredients9

pretzels Waffle Pretzels

Hersey Hugs

Smarties (red and pink)

method7

Preheat the oven to 200°.

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Put a single layer of pretzels down and top each with one Hersey Hug.

Bake in over for 4-5 mins, until hugs is softened (But NOT melting)**

Remove from the oven and place a Smartie in the center of each hug, and gently press in.

Refrigerate until they have set and store in an airtight container.

seriving-and-tips

pretzels and hugs You can take this recipe and use it for all seasons, just change the color of the Smarties or use other toppings as decorations.

The original recipe called for M&Ms, but I personally like Smarties better, so I used them instead.

You could also use kisses instead of hugs- this recipe is very versatile and can be modified to fit everyone's needs.

**One way to tell when the pretzels and hugs are to be removed from the oven is that- the hugs will be shiny.
