NL’s TOM POWER The New “Q” Host

Posted: October 23, 2016

q logoHuge congratulations and many best wishes to St.John's, NL native Tom Power - on this, the eve of his BIG, new broadcast adventure.

On Monday, October 24th he'll take his permanent place in the host's chair on CBC radio's daily talk show & entertainment show q.

No stranger to the station - Tom has served as the host of Radio 2 Morning and Deep Roots for a number of years now, and indeed he's guest hosted q in the past - but landing the national gig full time is HUGE!!!

Listeners can expect some fresh new twists, new panelists, new theme music and a star studded line up of guests - including, in this first week - Canadian music icons Blue Rodeo and SNL alum, funny man Norm MacDonald.

We can't wait to tune in for all the fun Mr.Power - some proud of ya! SABS

SABS Note of Noteworthiness

SABStv Ep410 The Company Theatre ShindigIn addition to being a wonderful broadcaster and host - Tom is a fantastic musician and singer. We caught up to Mr.Power and his bandmate Matthew Byrne way back in 2012 during the Roots Rants & Roars festival in Elliston, NL, and just this past spring we had the pleasure of seeing Tom perform in support of Allan Hawco's Company Theatre.  You can watch SABStv's coverage of The Company Theatre's Shindig! by clicking here.
