If you caught SEA AND BE SCENE TV's Production Report episode you'd know that Newfoundland born writer/director Stephen Dunn continues to take home the hardware for his first feature CLOSET MONSTER.

After winning Best Canadian Feature Film at TIFF last September - Dunn took home 2 trophies at the Atlantic Film Festival - for Best Film and Best Screenplay.  And already 2016 has seen 3 more wins for the man - with CLOSET MONSTER scoring Best Picture honours from the International Cinephile Society Awards in February, The Melbourne Queer Film Festival in March and The Miami LGBT Film Festival in April! WOW! How's that for a debut?!!!

Now you can see what all the accolades are about when CLOSET MONSTER rolls into theatres across Canada this July.

The film will be opening in the following locations on the following dates:
July 15th – Varsity Toronto
July 22nd – Downtown Halifax (Oxford or Parklane) 
July 22nd - Scotiabank St. John's
July 22nd -  5th Ave. Vancouver

Synopsis: Oscar Madly hovers on the brink of adulthood - destabilized by his dysfunctional parents, unsure of his sexuality, and haunted by horrific images of a tragic gay bashing he witnessed as a child.  A talking hamster, imagination and the prospect of love help him confront his surreal demons and discover himself.

what waits for them in darknessAs for Dunn's sophomore picture - that was announced last December when a casting call was made for the lead in the adventure/fantasy WHAT WAITS FOR THEM IN DARKNESS. The story based in a 1950s Newfoundland resettlement will revolve around a preteen girl named - Skipper Blackwood who is described as an outgoing, adventurous and scrappy tomboy.

As it stands now production on that picture is set to begin in Newfoundland this coming winter.
