Ryan Snoddon – At Home Here in Newfoundland and Labrador

Occupation: CBC NL Meteorologist for TV, Radio & cbc.ca/nl

Place of Birth: Pefferlaw, Ontario

Currently Resides: St. John's, NL

Where’s your favourite place in Newfoundland & Labrador to grab a coffee?
There are so many great local spots, so it's tough to choose just one. That said, Coffee Matters on Military Road is a favourite of mine for sure.

Where’s your favourite place in Newfoundland & Labrador to grab a pint?
In St. John's there are plenty of places to enjoy a glass of wine or a pint. Yellowbelly Brewery & The Republic are at the top of my list.

Where’s your favourite place in Newfoundland & Labrador to shop?
Downtown St. John's is a favourite of ours, especially at Christmas time. When the summer season hits, my wife and I love to visit the local farmers market on Saturdays. It's been nice to see the market grow and evolve over the past few years.

Where in Newfoundland & Labrador would we stand to see your favourite view?
On the edge of Western Brook Pond... or any of the hundreds of beautiful spots in Gros Morne National Park. The park is my favourite place on the Island.

Name 3 things we’ve gotta do when we visit Newfoundland & Labrador?

1. Hike somewhere on the East Coast Trail

2. Visit Gros Morne National Park

3.  Go for a drive up the Northeast coast 'hunting' for icebergs.

Ryan-snow-denial COOL PEOPLE PROFILEWhat makes Newfoundland & Labrador such a special place on earth for you?

With the mountains and the ocean, the beauty here is second to none.

Add that to the unique and lovely people that live here and you really have something special.  And don't forget the weather!

It's one of the stormiest places on the planet, which makes those sunny days feel all the more spectacular.
