MARK O’BRIEN Triple Bill at #AFF2015

MARK O'BRIEN photo credit Jamie FisherThe 35th Annual Atlantic Film Festival kicks off later this week with over 2oo films set to screen and 3 of them involve one of our favourite NL Fellas - the award winning and marvelous Mark O'Brien.

Two Atlantic Canadian shorts - WANDERER in which he co-stars and co-directed and WHO IS HANNAH? which he also directed. And rounding out the triple bill - the feature comedy in which he co-stars HOW TO PLAN AN ORGY IN A SMALL DOWN.

We knew the man was talented but WOW - and bonus for fans of the man... he'll be in Halifax to celebrate AFF 2015 - so keep your eyes peeled!

A psycho-thriller that follows a young traveler played by Mark O'Brien who is invited to stay the night at a couple's remote cottage. The couple played by Georgina Reilly (Murdoch Mysteries) and David O'Donnel (Christmas Under Wraps) and the young man share a meal and a discussion. An odd tension mounts as we discover who they truly are. Based on the unlikely but unfortunately true story of co-writer and star Claire Stollery (Rick Mercer Report) Who is Hannah? tells the story of a young girl named Hannah who travels from Toronto to California in search of her biological father at the tender age of 21. The comedic short co-stars Republic of Doyle alum Lynda Boyd, Rick Roberts and Rachel Wilson and is directed Mark O’Brien. Scott Cavalheiro produced and written by Claire Stolley and comedian John Hastings, Who is Hannah? will debut as part of the Reel East Coast Showcase Short Program presented by CBC on Saturday, Sept. 19th @ 3:30pm and Tuesday, Sept. 22nd @ 4:30pm. How to Plan an Orgy in a Small Town is about a group of friends who live in the picturesque town of Beaver’s Ridge—the epitome of wholesomeness and strong family values. Their orderly life is interrupted by the homecoming of Cassie Cranston (Jewel Staite), whom they slut-shamed into leaving town when she was a teenager. Now a big-city sex writer, Cassie returns home to face an unwelcome reception by her former friends, and finds an opportunity to seek revenge by writing a book about them when they ask her if she’ll help them plan an orgy. The film co-stars Lauren Holly, Katherine Isabelle, Natalie Brown, Lauren Lee Smith, Tommie-Amber Pirie, Jonas Chernick, Ennis Esmer and Mark O'Brien. How to Plan an Orgy in a Small Town was produced by Chris Bennett and Jordan Walker and will screen Saturday, Sept. 19th @ 4pm.
