CBC Halifax to Host Open House

Halifax – CBC Halifax invites the public to its new digs at 7067 Chebucto Road at its first Open House on Saturday, June 13, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Open House guests will have an opportunity to go behind the scenes of the radio and television studios. They’ll catch a glimpse of the workings and operations of the new station, while exploring our digital platforms as well.

Visitors will meet their favourite CBC personalities on the red carpet, in their studios, and during a tour of the facility. Visit CBC meteorologist Kalin Mitchell in the weather centre, CBC News Nova Scotia’s Amy Smith and Tom Murphy at the news anchor desk and Information Morning’s Don Connolly and Louise Renault in Studio A.

Weekend Mornings host Stan Carew, Maritime Noon’s Norma Lee MacLeod, Mainstreet’s Stephanie Domet, morning meteorologist Peter Coade and The East Coast Music Hour’s David Myles are looking forward to meeting their loyal listeners in Studio 60.

David Common of CBC Radio One’s World Report and Susan Kent of This Hour Has 22 Minutes will be in town for the event. Meet our French colleagues from CBC/Radio-Canada.

Get your smile ready for a souvenir photo in the photo booth and hear local pianists Kim Dunn, Diana Torbert and Andrew Son at the CBC piano in the main lobby.

Feed Nova Scotia will be holding a charity BBQ, so bring a cash donation and enjoy an afternoon snack. Special thanks to Sobeys for their generous support.
