NEPTUNE THEATRE Launches 53rd Season

Neptune Theatre revealed its magical 53rd Season today. This free public event, held annually, featured the official unveiling of the 2015/2016 season lineup along with special performances, patron appreciations and video presentations.

Here’s the entire season at a glance:

“From award-winning Canadian works, to everyone’s favourite ogre, to the years that shaped the baby boom generation, Neptune’s powerful, lively and ambitious 2015/2016 line-up is sure to make you believer,” said Artistic Director George Pothitos. “We’re so excited to bring Atlantic Canadians a brand new season of amazing storytelling on stage.”

Subscription Packages go on sale today to the public. After May 31, prices rise incrementally so purchasing a subscription now ensures the best savings. Getting a subscription offers a number of rewards, including first choice seating, complimentary exchanges, and dining and retail discounts.  Seniors, students, under 30s, military, NSTU members and CAA members are eligible for special price breaks.
Along with the regular season programming, Neptune also announced an exciting new series of Bonus Features. These new Bonus Features include:

Hank Williams Live – 1952 on the Fountain Hall stage October 9-11, 2015. Performer Joe Matheson brings to life one of the most influential singer-songwriters of the 20th century.

Ladies of Song – Starring Karen Myatt January 29-31, 2016. The voices of the Golden Era take over the Scotiabank Studio stage with enchanting songs from leading ladies Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Liza Minnelli, Edith Piaf, Barbra Streisand and more.

Remembering Patsy Cline & Friends May 20-22, 2016. Also on the studio stage, Halifax native Margot Sampson gives a toe-tapping tribute to the lady herself, along with a collection of her favourite songs from Carole King, Joni Mitchell, and many more.

Also back by popular demand, Rant and Raise with Rick Mercer – a one night only rant at the Spatz Theatre May 13, 2016 in support of Neptune Theatre.

Pothitos is gearing up for The Addams Family, the final 2014/15 season production on Neptune’s Fountain Hall stage.  “Our 52nd year has been incredible, and I look forward to sharing another magical year of amazing live theatre for our 53rd season.”

Neptune’s season ending musical The Addams Family opens on the Fountain Hall stage April 7 - May 24.

Trudeau Stories, the final Studio Series production of the season written and performed by Brooke Johnson, plays April 21-May 3.
