In less than a week the much anticipated sequel in the HUNGER GAMES series will open in theatres across North America.  Friday, November 22, 2013 to be exact - beginning with midnight screenings in certain markets (check your local listings).

There's busy....and then there's Donald Sutherland.

Let's begin with his return in the box office giant HUNGER GAMES - this second installment CATCHING FIRE has Sutherland once again ruthlessly leading the people of Panam as the evil President Snow. The film stars Oscar Winner Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark who dealing are with the aftermath of their victory and an impending rebellion of the masses.

Set to hit theatres November 22, 2013 -  advance tickets for the film go on sale tomorrow October 1st. (see trailer above)

DONALD SUTHERLAND in Crossing LinesAs for Mr.Sutherland on the small screen - you can catch him on CBC this fall - in CROSSING LINES. The series which originally aired this summer on NBC will premiere here in Canada on Tuesday, October 8th. Sutherland plays Michel Dorn and co-stars along side William Fichtner (Prison Break), Marc Lavoine (The Good Thief), Gabriella Pession (Wilfred), Moon Dailly (Black Heaven), Richard Flood (Titanic-Blood and Steel) and Tom Wlaschiha (Game of Thrones).

And as if all that wasn't enough - the Emmy and Golden Globe award winning actor has three other projects listed in post-production... the romantic comedy BASMATI BLUES with Brie Larson and Scott Bakula, the thriller THE CALLING with Susan Sarandon and Ellen Burstyn and the western drama FORSAKEN with Demi Moore in which Sutherland will play father to real life son Keifer Sutherland.
