Alan Doyle BOY ON A BRIDGE documentary stills with Jim Cuddy, Russell Crowe and Gordie SampsonCool there be a cooler movie??!!

If you loved the album then you're going to go bananas for the movie about its making. BOY ON A BRIDGE is a full length documentary that follows NL's Alan Doyle through the making of his 2012 hit release.

And talk about your guest stars...Mike Post, Russell Crowe, Scott Grimes, Jim Cuddy, Ron Hynes, Gordie Sampson, Hawksley Workman and Colin James to name a few. Directed by Joel Stewart and John Vatcher - it's an intimate and awesome look at the artist and his musical comrades...from studio to stage - it's a blast from start to finish.

Broadcasting now on The Movie Network – you can click here for listings. And later on this year you'll be able to catch it on CMT Canada – we'll keep you posted on that.

In other news...the pride of Petty Harbour continues the 20th Anniversary Tour with his band Great Big Sea - on a smidge of a break now until the last leg beginning April 10th in Hamilton and wrapping up at home in St.John's on April 27th. More summer dates have been added to the tour – for a full schedule click here.

And how about this bit of news... Alan also posted this note on his blog page  in an entry dated Jan 28th.

“I’ve been in discussions with Random House Canada and am happy to report that I’ve signed a deal to write a memoir of sorts. I suspect it will be made up of tales of growing up in a small fishing town, leading to a professional life on stages around half the world. How’s that for a vague description? Truth be told, I’ve submitted about 20,000 words already and have a notion for how its going to go…I think. I’m very grateful to Nita, a wonderful editor who’s responsible for helping me wade through my hundreds of pages and try to make sense of my madness. Very excited about this whole thing, I must say. Again, keep you posted.”

WINTER'S TALE starring Russell Crowe...Alan Doyle too

You can also look for Alan to return to the big screen in Winter's Tale “A fantasy story set in 19th Century and present-day Manhattan and revolves around a thief, a dying girl, and a flying white horse” The movie stars Oscar Winner and pal Russell Crowe – and Oscar Nominee Will Smith.

Music, movies, books...what's next? Modeling maybe...?

Well, whatever it is – if it involves Alan Doyle – you know it will be AMAZING!!! SABS
