Where’s your favourite place in Nova Scotia to grab a coffee?

Nothing like catching the ferry over to D-town to grab a cup of Joe and a Croissant at Two If  By Sea... great folks, chill vibe.

Where’s your favourite place in Nova Scotia to grab a pint?

That’s a tough one! Nova Scotia is like pint heaven. I’ll give you two! I would say The Henry House in the south end of Halifax on Barrington. I usually end up with a Black Velvet (if you don’t know what this is, go there now and order one!) and a Plate of Nachos w/extra Cheese and extra pineapple. My second Fav would be The Library Pub in Wolfville. Quaint, Cozy, and a great selection of Draught.

Where’s your favourite place to shop in Nova Scotia?

I love comic books so I pretty much make by-weekly stop-ins at Strange Adventures on Sackville St. Right now I’m addicted to this ridiculously fun series called SAGA. It’s a good ol' fashion space opera epic. Check it out.  I’m also a big fan of Biscuit. Whether I’m shopping for new digs, or looking to find a gift for Bryde (my wife), they usually have what I’m looking for.

What's the one meal you miss the most when you're away?

Well I have been away for the past few months, and since I left all I can think about it the Vegetarian Donair from the Wooden Monkey! I know I know, vegetarian donair is a total oxymoron, but trust me, this thing will blow your mind.

Where in Nova Scotia would we stand to see your favourite view?

7AM in the middle of the MacKay bridge, looking across The Narrows to Halifax harbour. For it to be perfect, it has to be one of those mornings where the sun is shining bright and burning off the early morning fog. This one is tricky though. I think it’s dangerous, and illegal to stand in the middle of the bridge... So make it quick.

Name 3 things we’ve gotta do when we visit Nova Scotia:

1. Take a sweaty yoga class at Moksha Yoga Halifax or the soon to be - Moksha Yoga Bedford - And who knows, maybe I’ll be teaching it.

2. Go surfing in Cow Bay

3. Get silly at any local kitchen party going on while you’re here!

What makes Nova Scotia such a special place on earth for you?

There is something to be said for East Coast Canadian hospitality. No matter where on earth you go, it never seems to compare. And for that I’m proud to call Nova Scotia my home!
