The wait is over as tomorrow brings the series premiere of Martha MacIsaac's new NBC comedy 1600 Penn.

Martha MacIsaac as Becca Gilchrist in NBC's 1600 PennCharlottetown, PEI born actress Martha MacIsaac is moving into the White House and into the role of Becca Gilchrist, the eldest daughter in the rather dysfunctional first family of 1600 Penn.

Bill Pullman (While You Were Sleeping) stars as President Dale Gilchrist along with Jenna Elfman (Dharma & Greg) who plays Emily Nash Gilchrist first lady and stepmother to the kids in the NBC 2012-13 mid-season comedy.

Former White House speechwriter Jon Lovett co-created the show with director Jason Winer and Josh Gad who plays Skip the out of control brother – check out the trailer above for his brand of mayhem.

Dead Before Dawn 3DYou should be able to see Martha on the big screen again before her new TV series premieres – as Dead Before Dawn 3D is set to hit theatres this fall.

On the off chance you're reading this post while in France however, you can catch a screening 7th annual Perspective Canada Cannes, running parallel to the Cannes Film Festival this weekend... it's possible. SABS

1600 Penn won't be the first time Martha's been cast as a'll recall that was the name of her character in 2007 hit Superbad won't be the first time Bill Pullman has played the President either.... he played President Thomas J. Whitmore in the 1996 blockbuster Independence Day.

  1. It's too bad NBC is saving this for mid-season. It should have gotten a big splash out of the gate in the fall. I hope they promote it well, because I'm afraid a lot of viewers still think of mid-season shows as shows that weren't good enough to make the fall schedule. That may not be the case here.
