Updated: December 27, 2012

This year’s host is Canadian radio personality Grant Lawrence. A leading voice in the Canadian independent music scene, Lawrence is no stranger at hosting events. The Vancouver native is a six-time co-host of the Polaris Music Prize Gala and recently hosted the Western Canadian Music Awards, as well as various festivals around North America.

Of all provinces, Prince Edward Island consistently amazes me year in, year out, for the sheer quality and quantity of music created from this beautiful place,” Lawrence said. “I follow the Prince Edward Island music scene very closely from afar, so I consider it a blessing to be able to immerse myself in it in person once again during PEI Music week.”

Tickets for the 12th annual Music PEI Awards Gala are now on sale and are available at the Confederation Centre of the Arts’ box office. The jury is in and nominees have been selected for Metro Credit Union Music PEI Week 2013. Please join them on Dec. 14, 2012 at The Guild in Charlottetown for the Nomination Party. The announcement of our nominees for the 2013 Metro Credit Union Music PEI Week Awards gives Islanders an opportunity to celebrate and recognize some of that wealth of talent. These are passionate artists who pour their heart and soul into their work and we should be proud of them all.”

A total of twenty-six awards will be handed out at events during Metro Credit Union Music PEI Week 2013, which runs January 25th-February 2nd and culminates with the 12th Annual Music PEI Awards Gala presented by Ticketpro.

Metro Credit Union Music PEI Week
has grown to an Island-wide event that brings together artists, the music industry and the public for a jam-packed week of concerts, workshops and the Gala Awards Show at the Confederation Centre of the Arts.
