LUCAS BRYANT #FFF Friday Favourite Four
Posted: September 28, 2012
It’s Friday and we're finishing off this week with an extra-special edition of our fun feature that takes the #FF one 'F' further...and shakes up Twitter's popular acronym with a SABS twist.
The Sea and be Scene #FFF is your weekly chance to discover the four favourites of your favourite East Coast folks. The four questions will always stay the same...only the folks will change and for this week…
We're featuring a fella who has called Nova Scotia's South Shore home for the past 3 summers and whose troubled character continues to lay down the law as HAVEN begins season 3.
Born in Elmira, Ontario he studied theatre and drama at Sheridan College in Oakville and it wasn't long before this actor was making the scene on stage and screen in both his native Canada and in America.
His credits for live theatre include "The Crucible", "The King & I" and Alumnae Theatre’s "Your Tricks Might Be Poison". He even launched an all-male production of "Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret" based on the Judy Blume novel.
His TV work includes series roles in Queer as Folk for Showtime; M.V.P. for SOAPnet and CBC; Sex, Love and Secrets for UPN; and CTV’s The Eleventh Hour. His credits include many Movie of the Week productions including More Sex & the Single Mom and A Very Merry Daughter of the Bride, and played the lead role of Ken Read in the MOW Crazy Canucks, inspired by the true story of the World Cup Downhill Circuit during the 1974-1976 seasons. He also had a lead role in the MOW Playing House, based on Canadian author Patricia Pearson’s best-selling novel of the same name. And he's just completed shooting a made for TV movie called Merry In-Laws that co-stars Cheers Alumni George Wendt and Shelly Long as Mr. & Mrs. Claus due to broadcast this coming holiday season.
Just this past February he hit the big screen with his role in a major motion picture and love story THE VOW along side Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum, but we here at SABS know and love him best for his role as Nathan Wuornos in the Syfy/Showcase hit series HAVEN.
For the past two seasons we've watched the troubled character go from a distant and 'unfeeling' detective to HAVEN's Chief of Police whose feelings for partner Audrey Parker (Emily Rose) have him going to any length to keep her safe. Now with the premiere of Season 3 his battle to uncover the mystery of HAVEN's history continues...whether he can handle all that's about to happen...remains to be seen. All we know for certain is we can't wait!
And for certain we are grateful that this kind and funny and talented actor has once again made time for us. That generous fella is non other than Lucas Bryant.
Thanks for sharing your Friday Favourite Four with us, we'll be watching the new episodes of HAVEN and so looking forward to your return to Nova Scotia next spring/summer for the production of Season 4.
