If you've ever wondered why they call Prince Edward Island "the Gentle Island" – you need look no further than Rock Barra. Sure, there are examples of it all around PEI, but when you turn of Rt. #16 onto Big Pond Road... you are engulfed by gentle.... woodland flowers, tall grasses, sand dunes, sea breezes and a view that takes your breath away.
Every Sunday from this one, July 29, 2012, through to September 2, 2012 host Teresa Doyle welcomes another group of gifted artists to fill the night with song (a full schedule follows this post). The start time is 7:30pm each Sunday and admission to the concerts (to be paid at the door) is $10 for adults, Farmers are FREE, and there are special rates for families.
Hey and you might just want to make a full day of it this Sunday – as all are invited for a picnic and FREE open house from 2pm – 5pm . There will be tours of the beachside property, including labyrinth, medicine wheel, Celtic stone meditation circle, wooded trails, retreat workshop/concert hall and of course the beach. Bring your own picnic offerings, beach chair and beach gear. Picnic goes rain or shine.
Rock Barra Retreat will also be holding FREE musical workshops during the month of August. They've even planned a harvest corn boil too.
