Brian Bourne celebrates release of new album with show at Bearly’s House of Blues & Ribs in Halifax, August 9
(Halifax, NS) – Well-known Halifax-based musician, Brian Bourne celebrates the release of his debut solo album, Stick With Me, at Bearly’s House of Blues & Ribs in Halifax on Thursday, August 9 at 8:30 p.m.
A full-time member of the multi award-winning Celtic rock group Rawlins Cross, Bourne is an highly accomplished bass and Chapman stick player.
He has worked with countless other artists and groups, including Ray Bonneville, Daniel Lanois, Colin Linden, Matt Andersen, Thom Swift, Morgan Davis, Nathan Wiley, Lennie Gallant, Ron Hynes, Junior Watson, Joint Effort, Red Rock Hotel, Redeye, Terry Hatty Band, The Press, Charlie A'Court, Rasta Gumbo, John Campbell John, Mary Jane Lamond, DRUM! Squid, Kim Wempe, Tutu Jones, James Harman, Super Chikan, Cheryl Gaudet, Paul Reddick,, Terry Gillespie, Sue Foley, Sonja Wood, Wayne Nicholson, Carlo Spinazzola, L'il Brian and the Zydeco Travelers, Max Weinberg, and The Hupman Brothers.
In addition to performing on over fifty album projects, Bourne has multiple East Coast Music Award wins and nominations along with a JUNO nomination for his playing with aforementioned artists and groups.
Born in Quebec in 1955, Bourne’s early influences included The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, and The Kinks. He moved to New Brunswick for university and then traveled to the Far East for a period of time. He returned to Canada in 1974 and started his career as a professional musician.
Offering a blend of roots, blues, cajun, folk and rock, Stick With Me features nine original tracks written, performed and produced by Bourne. The album was co-produced by James Logan and mastered by Donnie Chapman in Halifax.
