Martha Paterson – No Place Like Home in Nova Scotia
Occupation: Account Manager, Sponsorship at the Calgary Stampede
Place of Birth: Kentville, NS
Currently Resides: Calgary, AB
Where’s your favourite place in NS to grab a coffee?
My Mom’s Kitchen – My dad has a special brew made at the Laughing Whale Coffee Roasters in Lunenburg, NS. That combined with one of my mum’s homemade scones is perfection.
Where’s your favourite place in NS to grab a pint?
Fo'c’sle Tavern in Chester, NS - preferably with my rowdy family in tow.
Where’s your favourite place to shop in NS?
Sweet Pea Boutique, Biscuit General Store, Twisted Muse Boutique
Where in Nova Scotia would we stand to see your favourite view?
Anywhere in Chester looking out over the harbour. It doesn’t get much better than that especially during a warm summer evening as the sun is setting.
Name 3 things we’ve gotta do when we visit Nova Scotia:
1. Drive along the south shore from Peggy’s Cover to Lunenburg and beyond. It’s a twisty road that runs right along the water through all the little fishing villages.
2. Drink a nice cold Olands beer while belting out some Nova Scotia tunes and stamping your foot in a rowdy bar in downtown Halifax.
3. Visit Halifax during the Tall Ships Festival in the summer!
What makes Nova Scotia such a special place on earth for you?
I can always call it home and it will always feel like home. As much as I appear to be a city girl living in Toronto, my home will always be in Nova Scotia with my family.
