The party continued in New Brunswick, as Day 4 of East Coast Music Week raged on from morning to night. (Many reported lines blurring between Friday and today – but I say those people are just 'getting their money's worth'). Saturday included everything from a live radio broadcast with breakout artists to an Industry brunch - to bunches and bunches of performances in venues all over Moncton.
And today saw a healthy helping of awards doled out too – among the Industry winners was the Fredericton, NB's Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival founder, Corner Brook, NB native Brent Staeben who took home the ECMA's Industry Builder Award.
And amidst those artists recognized, Cape Breton born Grammy winning singer songwriter Gordie Sampson scored the ECMA for Country Recording of the Year for his project “Almost Beautiful”. This win for Gordie means he'll be hitting the Cavendish Beach Music Festival stage this summer – awesome!
See below for the growing list of those who've won so far.
The remaining music awards will be presented at The Bell Aliant 2012 East Coast Music Awards Gala. Delivered by UPS, the Gala is being hosted by Roch Voisine and will take place at Casino New Brunswick’s Event Centre on Sunday, April 15th at 7:30 p.m.
Just a reminder The Trews will play a FREE outdoor concert at the Moncton City Market on Sunday (04/15/12) at 1pm. The Nova Scotia based group has won the 2012 ECMA for Rock Recording of the Year (see why in the video above)
