Your 2012 ECMA Nominees Are…

The 2012 East Coast Music Week is set for April 11 – 15 in Moncton, New Brunswick.  There will be workshops and networking and parties, lots and lots of live performances and a whole lot of hardware to be doled out.  Just this morning in fact the nominees for this year's awards were announced.

Nova Scotia's Jimmy Rankin received the most nominations with a total of 8 including Fan's Choice, Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year for Forget About The World and two in the Video of the Year category - for "Here in My Heart" and for “I’m Just Sayin’” (video above)

Fans get to vote for their favourite video and Bell Aliant Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the Year again this year - voting opens March 1 and closes April 5, 2012.  We’ll once again profile all video nominees (check out the 2011 profiles)

Other multiple nominees include Classified NS with six nominations and with five each David Myles NB, The Trews NS and Matt Andersen NB.

Awards will be presented throughout the week with the majority being handed out during the Award Show Gala at Casino New Brunswick on Sunday, April 15.  The evening will be hosted by NB native Roch Voisine who will also perform along with Andy Brown, Ben Caplan & The Casual Smokers, Catherine MacLellan, Classified, Jimmy Rankin, Joseph Edgar, Kim Stockwood, Lisa LeBlanc, Matt Andersen, Matthew Hornell, Meaghan Smith, The Olympic Symphonium , The Once, and Tim Chaisson and Morning Fold.

We’ll have lots more coverage, profiles and interviews leading up to this year's big event.  And we'll be there in Moncton for all the fun too - just like last year! In case you missed it - get a glimpse of the Sights & Sounds for the 2011 ECMAs
