Guest Speakers & Workshops announced for Conference during
Metro Credit Union Music PEI Week 2012
(Charlottetown) - Music PEI is gearing up to present its best conference to date. The Music Week Conference, presented by Culture PEI, is an important part of Metro Credit Union Music PEI Week 2012, which runs January 13-21.
The Music Week Conference runs from Wednesday January 18 to Saturday January 21 in Studio 1 of the Confederation Centre of the Arts.
Seventeen guest speakers from across the music industry, including Rose Cousins (featured above), Wayne O’Connor, David Francey and more, will present throughout eight dynamic sessions. Topics for these workshops include performance coaching, career development, gig booking, efficient touring, a songwriting workshop, and more.
Acclaimed musician, author and filmmaker Dave Bidini will deliver the keynote address on January 20th during a one-on-one exchange with Andrew King, the editor of Canadian Musician magazine. A full listing of conference topics and speakers can be found at the end of this release.
Metro Credit Union Music PEI Week 2012 kicks off with the Coffee Art Crawl, Presented by Online Support on January 13. Original artwork by the nominees for Visual Artist of the Year will be on display from 4:30-5:30 pm at Leonhard's, Beanz and Timothy's. These three cafés and restaurants are all found close together on University Avenue and will exhibit this artwork until January 21. The award for Visual Artist of the Year will be presented during this opening ceremony along with the unveiling of the lineup of Gala performers, and great food and drinks.
Tickets are selling fast for all Metro Credit Union Music PEI Week events.
The January 14 concert ‘CBC Presents Just Bidin’ My Time: A Tribute to Gene MacLellan’ is now sold out however several performers from this show can be heard elsewhere during Music Week.
