A SWEET RELEASE – tickets now on sale!!!

(Halifax, NS) – Celebrating its 17th year, the 2012 Ha!ifax ComedyFest promises another fun-filled event full of belly laughs and side-splitting humour. The event, taking place from April 25 – April 28, will see top Canadian and international comic talent perform on a variety of Halifax stages.

Award-winning comic veteran, Mark Critch returns to host the event and other featured comedians will be announced in the New Year.

Tickets for the Gala of Laughs on Friday, April 27 and the Gala Finale on Saturday, April 28 at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium are $39 (including tax, plus surcharge) and are available now at the Dalhousie Arts Centre, by phone 494-3820 / 1-800-874-1669 and online at http://artscentre.dal.ca/. Both shows start at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for the Pub Comedy double feature on Saturday, April 28 at the Lower Deck are $20 each (including tax, plus surcharge) and are available now by calling 451-1221 / 1-877-451-1221, online at http://www.ticketatlantic.com/ and at participating Atlantic Superstores. Show times are 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Tickets for the Opening Gala on Wednesday, April 25 and the All Star Gala on Thursday, April 26 at Casino Nova Scotia’s Schooner Room are $45 for VIP seating and $37 for regular seating (including tax, plus surcharge). Tickets for these two shows go on sale Monday, December 5 at 12 noon by calling 451-1221 / 1-877-451-1221, online at http://www.ticketatlantic.com/ and at participating Atlantic Superstores. Both shows start at 7:30 p.m.

The Ha!ifax ComedyFest is a joint venture between Pilot Light Productions, CBC, Premiere Entertainment Group (PEG) and the Halifax Comedy Festival Society. The event competes with the best comedy festivals in the world and is one of three comedy festivals broadcast nationally during prime time hours on CBC Television. The television series has garnered nine Gemini Award nominations since 2001, including three in 2011.
