Where’s your favourite place in Nova Scotia to grab a coffee?
Generally on my couch since I do the majority of my coffee drinking at 3:30am, but I love the odd brew from Uncommon Grounds.
Where’s your favourite place in Nova Scotia to grab a pint?
Gus’ Pub or the Red Stag…or, again, on my couch! Nothing beats a growler of Propeller in the beer fridge.
Where’s your favourite place to shop in Nova Scotia?
The Seaport Farmers’ Market or downtown/North end Halifax. You can find so many awesome things in the shops downtown – the Black Market, Pretty Things Boutique, Biscuit, etc.
Where in Nova Scotia would we stand to see your favourite view?
My mother’s deck overlooking the Wallace River during the fall. You could see my second favourite view by turning around, assuming my stepdad was BBQing at the time.
Name 3 things we’ve gotta do when we visit Nova Scotia:
1. Hike the Red Head Trail at Five Islands
2. Drive the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton and stop for camping and a boat tour in Baddeck
3. Spend a cool fall night with friends checking out live local music in a Halifax pub… or three
What makes Nova Scotia such a special place on earth for you?
I grew up here, most of my family lives here, and it really has something for everyone – from the bohemian urbanite to the extreme wilderness enthusiast. I love going to visit other places and lived out West for a while, but the smell of the Atlantic ocean (yep, even the harbour) signals home for me. My family did a lot of camping when I was a kid and I’ve been fortunate to explore all different parts of the province, from the Cape Breton Highlands to Yarmouth. There is no place on Earth like Nova Scotia!
