We here at SABS are HUGE fans of the songwriters' circle – the story behind the lyrics and melodies when told by the folks that crafted the song in the first place – well ya can’t beat it.

And now we hear of a cool new twist on our favourite format with four fabulous East Coast Artists.  Get this…Tim Chaisson PEI, Chris Kirby NL, Kim Wempe NS and Andy Brown NB will talk about and play each other’s songs and discuss what the music of their co-stars means to them.

Whose Song Is It Anyway? Tours Canada’s East Coast

Featuring Chris Kirby (NL), Kim Wempe (NS), Tim Chaisson (PEI) and Andy Brown (NB)

Whose Song Is It Anyway? is an interactive songwriters’ circle…turned inside out!

This unique new show features four acclaimed East Coast artists performing several recognizable songs…written by the other artists on stage. The original story of the song will come from the original artist, but the focus will quickly become how that song affects the other artists.

Not only does this format give the audience a different perspective on the music they love, it also sheds a new light for the artists themselves – on their own songs!

“I’ve been having a blast learning and performing Kim, Tim and Andy’s songs,” said show creator Chris Kirby. “The best is their on-stage reaction to what I’ve done to their songs to add my own style – it gets laughs from us onstage as well as the audience! I also love hearing my own music performed in a different way…we’re all learning from each other while having a fantastic time playing music. I think this element really shines through and makes for a very unique and fun concert experience”

The learning process continues on stage for these songwriters, new versions of certain songs may emerge, and new collaborations are sure to surface – right in front of their fans. It also gives the artists an occasion to visibly appreciate each other and their music, which the audience will no doubt find charming and endearing.

Let’s celebrate our East Coast artists – and let them celebrate each other!
